Kiersten Todt currently serves as the Managing Director of the Cyber Readiness Institute (CRI), a non-profit initiative that convenes senior executives of global companies to develop free cybersecurity tools and resources for small businesses, worldwide. She co-founded CRI in 2017 with the CEOs of Mastercard, Microsoft, PSP Partners, and the retired CEO of IBM. She is also the Scholar in Washington, DC at the University of Pittsburgh Institute for Cyber Law, Policy, and Security.

Ms. Todt is also the CEO of Liberty Group Ventures, LLC (LGV). She develops risk and crisis management solutions for cybersecurity, infrastructure, homeland security, emergency management, and higher education clients in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Ms. Todt advises senior executives and Boards on cyber risk management, including the development and execution of tabletop exercises and relevant senior-level education and training programs. She also provides strategic advice and counsel to senior leaders in industry and government.

She most recently served as the Executive Director of President Obama’s independent, bipartisan Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity.

Andrew Gould, Interpol Global Cybercrime & Programme Lead @ U.K. National Police Chiefs’ Council

UK policing has built a credible and capable national cybercrime policing network to deliver an effective response at the local, regional and national level working with the National Crime Agency and National Cyber Security Centre.  This network is focused on incident response and supporting victims.  The next stage of development for the police response to cybercrime is to become more data driven – using threat intelligence to drive operational activity in real time. The Police CyberAlarm is an innovative policing tool that helps protect organisations and allows them to share suspicious activity data with police in an automated way.

Detective Chief Superintendent Andrew Gould is a City of London police officer and the National Cybercrime Programme Lead for National Police Chiefs’ Council. He is responsible for developing the police response to cybercrime at the national, regional and local level. This includes overseeing the operational activity of Regional and Force Cybercrime Units and supporting the response to major national cyber incidents. Andrew is also responsible for the development of an effective police capability on the Dark Web and in cryptocurrencies. He is also a Global Cybercrime Expert for Interpol. Prior to this he ran the Met Police’s Cybercrime Unit having previously worked in Counter Terrorism leading counter terrorism investigations and operations in the UK and abroad.

Martin Kelterborn, CEO of Offix Holding in Switzerland experienced a Cyber attack in 2019– access denied, all his data encrypted, ransom sums flashing across the screen.

What next? He refused to be blackmailed.

In an exemplary emergency action, all his employees rescued the company from its deathbed and moved it to intensive care in a matter of days, and in a few weeks from intensive care back to full health.

Companies that have been affected very often don’t wish to talk about it and try to hide what happened as far as possible. No so with Offix. The security system was up to date. There were no obvious loopholes. Nonetheless it happened. Martin Kelterborn therefore decided to sensitise other companies to the dangers.
