The financial services industry is in the midst of a significant transformation and electronic payments are at the heart of it. Traditional payments providers are expected to collaborate with FinTechs as one of their main sources of innovation.

David McHenry will present the payments landscape across the world, digital wallets and super-apps WeChat Pay and Alipay, digital currencies, “buy now, pay later” offerings, cryptocurrencies and more. He will also share who he thinks are the startups and FinTechs to watch in this space.

Sandra will briefly touch on the rise of cybercrime and organised fraud-as-a-service.

The presentations will be followed by a roundtable discussion and Q&A.

David McHenry – Head of Global Treasury and Payments Advisory EMEA @ Silicon Valley Bank

David leads a team addressing the domestic cash management and global treasury needs for some of the most exciting, rapidly scaling companies in the world.   David has over 20 years of experience working with technology companies, government entities and financial institutions to design and implement treasury and payment solutions.  Prior to relocating to the United Kingdom, David worked in a cross-functional capacity as part of the Global Treasury, FinTech Relationship and Payment Strategy teams at SVB in San Francisco.  In this role, David focused on supporting SVB’s efforts to assist and design banking solutions for clients with aims to enhance and disrupt the worlds of finance and payments. Prior to his time with SVB, David led Correspondent Banking and Public Sector treasury and wholesale banking efforts at M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank and KeyBank.

David graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and holds the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation from the Association of Financial Professionals.

Sandra Peaston – Director of Research and Development @ Cifas

Sandra has worked in fraud prevention for over 20 years and has a wealth of experience in fraud data analytics and a deep and expansive understanding of data sharing for the purposes of fraud prevention. She leads on Cifas’ research and development, ensuring that the Cifas community is equipped to handle the ever-evolving fraud threat. She also oversees the Intelligence Team, delivering fraud-related research and intelligence on the latest fraud trend and tactics as well as leading on law enforcements relationships, supporting the police in investigating fraud and financial crime. She created Cifas’ annual report Fraudscape, which analyses current fraud trends in the UK. Sandra has recently co-authored the OIX Guide to Fraud Controls for Digital Identity ecosystems.
