Professor Shafi Ahmed

World’s First VR Surgeon, Co-founder @ Medical Realities

Professor Shafi Ahmed is a multi award winning cancer surgeon working at The Royal London Hospital. He is a member of the NHS assembly advising the government on the NHS Long Term Plan and was awarded the Future NHS Award by members of Parliament in 2018. He won the Silver Scalpel as best national trainer in surgery in 2015 and has been given the accolade of the worlds most watched surgeon as has streamed live operations using Google Glass, Virtual Reality, social media and on national television on Operation Live which was shortlisted for a BAFTA award in 2019.

He has been recently appointed as an advisor to the Abu Dhabi government for digital transformation of health and innovation.

He is faculty at Imperial College, Barts Medical School, Queen Mary University, Bradford University, Harvard Medical School and Singularity University where he teaches on innovation and digital transformation. He has set up surgical education programmes in over 20 countries including conflict zones.

He cofounded Medical Realities a VR education company and sits on the board and advises major medtech and pharma companies.

He chairs the Webit Health summit in Spain and co founded the GIANT health summit in London. He is one of the top 20 global influencers in digital health and innovation and is a HIMSS Future50 clinical leader 2019.

Nick Taylor

Dr Nick Taylor is the Co-Founder & CEO of Unmind, a workplace mental health platform that provides clinically-backed tools and training to create healthier, happier, more human. From a young age Nick had a fascination with the human mind. Nick chose to pursue this interest gaining a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and embarking on a career with the NHS. Through these experiences he became passionate about the importance of prevention in mental health. In 2016 Nick left the NHS to start the award winning mental health company Unmind.

Unmind is built on the belief that everyone has the right to a healthy mind.

Jenny Knott

Jenny Knott is both a board level investment banker with over 30 years experience, as well as a leading innovator in financial technologies.

As an investment banker, she has been CEO, PLC Finance Director and COO, widely respected for leading the modernisation and transformation of her organizations and for her knowledge of the technical finance, emerging technology and regulatory environments. Jenny has very extensive international experience: she has overseen major M&A transactions, led negotiations, and built strong relationships with, major institutions throughout the world, including China, North America, Europe and Africa.

Jenny has been a public advocate for the radical technological modernisation of the Financial Services Industry. Her strategy and application in the Fintech sector has been praised as “the Game changer of 2017” by Global Derivatives. She acquired and nurtured a number of award winning technology companies commissioned the development of a revolutionary transaction platform and championed the value of Blockchain in extensive media appearances in the UK ad USA.

Jenny Knott is a winner of the “Woman of the City, Financial Services” Award. She believes that inclusivity and cognitive, demographic and experiential diversity are a ‘must’ for a successful business and acts as mentor and advisor to a number of CEO’s. Jenny is Finance trustee for Ovarian Cancer Action.
